Compare the rule changes
| Label | General idea | Read before evaluating |
|---|---|---|
| Joker | Designated cards can stand for other cards. | How the joker is selected and which substitutions are allowed. |
| Muflis | A low-hand variation. | How categories and rank comparisons are inverted or otherwise defined. |
| AK47 | A, K, 4 and 7 are commonly designated wild ranks. | Whether all suits qualify and how multiple wilds are resolved. |
A classic hand can become a different result
WORKED EXAMPLE
4♠ 8♥ 8♦
In classic Teen Patti this is a pair. If a variation makes the four wild and permits it to stand for another eight, the best permitted interpretation may become a trail. The physical cards stayed the same; the evaluation rule changed.
Do not simply reverse a chart for every low game
A low-hand label still needs an exact contract. Confirm ace treatment, category treatment and ties. Two groups can use the same variation name while disagreeing about an exception. Read a product’s mode help rather than assuming a generic name settles it.
Write a variation contract
- State the deck and the cards or ranks that are wild.
- State the category order and ace rules.
- State how alternative wild-card interpretations are chosen.
- State what happens when the best interpreted hands tie.
- Use a worked example before beginning the session.
Why the classic frequency table does not transfer
The 22,100-hand distribution counts no-wild-card categories under a standard deck. Adding wilds changes the evaluation, and restricting the deck changes the sample space. Copying those percentages into an AK47 or Muflis review would hide the assumptions.
Keep a small rules ledger
WORKED EXAMPLE
Keep a small rules ledger
Record the deck, wild ranks, ace treatment and tie procedure for each mode. Two modes with the same physical cards can produce different results. Keeping the ledger prevents an apparently familiar label from hiding the rule that actually changed.
Tool boundary
The browser comparer supports classic hands with two ace-run conventions. It deliberately does not produce a result for a named wild-card mode. Use it to learn the base comparisons, then evaluate the variation under its own stated rules.
